STP Development Training Program
Spot Trading LLC, a proprietary trading firm located in Chicago, is looking for recent computer science and computer engineering graduates to help form its STP Development Training Program for software developers; starting in the summer of 2009. The field of proprietary trading is an exciting, highly competitive industry that is dominated by the need to innovate and create competitive advantage through world class software development. We are looking for smart, energetic, and self-motivated people to join our team.
Successful candidates will show strong problem solving skills, and demonstrate a passion to create innovative solutions through developing world class trading systems. Candidates should also be able to thrive in a team based, collaborative culture that values entrepreneurial thinking and commitment to achieve results. Finally, candidates will need to show strong ability to communicate complex systems in simple, easy to understand language.
The STP Development Training Program will involve rotations through each of the product teams at Spot. Candidates will work closely with senior developers on implementing trading applications that directly impact the profitability of the firm. Our goal is to build knowledge in candidates across the entire development platform, from architecture and design decisions, to coding and feature releases.
Candidates should expect to gain a thorough technical understanding of the proprietary, and 3rd party vendor applications at Spot, as well as the accompanying business education that will allow ones career to flourish in the highly technological proprietary trading space.
Successful completion of the STP Development Training Program will lead to full time integration into one of our product or systems architecture teams. Candidates will be well prepared for career paths as senior developers, software architects, or product managers.
